Skyward Sentinels

Skyward Sentinels is a pair of bespoke, site-specific artworks, each measuring 247 cm by 127 cm. These pieces were commissioned by a client with two young children, and the vision was to create installations that would both complement and enhance the atmosphere of their home. Positioned above two arched doorways, these works serve as a defining visual element in the space. To achieve a sense of visual continuity with the architectural features of the room, we carefully designed the artworks to have arched bottoms, mirroring the shape of the doorways and aligning with the vertical profiles of the walls. This thoughtful approach ensures that the pieces integrate seamlessly with the space, creating a harmonious flow between the artwork and the architecture. The central theme of Skyward Sentinels is the concept of guardian angels—symbols of protection and care—watching over the family and the home. This theme was chosen to convey a sense of security, peace, and divine presence, offering both visual and emotional resonance within the home environment. To further unify the works with their surroundings, the color palette was meticulously selected to match the interior design of the house. This decision ensures that the artworks not only complement the existing decor but also contribute to the overall cohesiveness and aesthetic continuity of the space, making them an integral part of the home’s design narrative.
