Beyond The Trees
“Beyond the Trees” was inspired by a transformative morning walk along a secluded beach on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. As dawn broke and the tide receded, the wet sand revealed intricate, tree-like formations—gnarled branches and twisted trunks resembling ancient trees. These delicate sculptures, however, were fleeting, destined to be reclaimed by the rising sea. I photographed these formations and transformed them into large-scale, three-dimensional works, layering resin with natural materials like sand and sticks. In "Beyond the Trees," I aim not only to capture nature’s artistry but also to provoke reflection on our shifting relationship with the world around us. These works explore the transient nature of our lives—our fleeting moments, fragile connections, and the landscapes that both shape and are shaped by us.
